About

I’m a husband, father, software engineer, maker, sailor, musician, creative mind, I love to cook, and last but not least: I brew my own beer.

Why this blog? Good question… I’ve been publishing on the internet since before the term “blog” was invented.

Around 2002, we created short travel reports from our sailing trips and posted them online on a daily basis. We thought it was cool to receive digital mail while on holiday. Today you would call it “blog” and “forum”.

Then I posted nothing, for a long time. Family and work required a lot of attention. But I’ve been playing with the idea of sharing the things I do online again for a while now.

The blog will be a collection of my many small and large projects. Sometimes I’ll post a how-to, sometimes just a report. The topics will be spread broadly, so it’s not going to follow the “how to become a successful blogger” tutorial. That’s not the point. I want to document my cooking, craft and creative projects and summarise a bit of “HTI’s world” here. My name is Gerhard, and “HTI” has been my nickname for decades.

I studied telematics at Graz University of Technology. I taught software engineering at FH Campus02 and at TU Graz. I am CTO of the XiTrust eSigning Company

Sometimes, I travel with Deskbreeze, give lectures and teach people about sailing theory.

Have fun looking around and browsing my website.
I hope you will find an inspiring idea.
